Fire Recovery Fund for Steven & Bonnie

My lifelong partner, Bonnie Byam, and I were awakened to a devastating and frightening fire at our Jamaica Plain-Boston rental on early Monday Morning on May 3rd, our home for over 25 years.
The fire began in the Landlord's residence below, and being an over 100 year old home, smoke quickly consumed the entire house.
Thankfully, a neighbor called the Boston Fire Dept. and I am also very thankful to the team of firefighters that put out the blaze before anyone lost their life.
Bonnie and I were able to escape with our lives and our pets, but suffered smoke inhalation. Additionally, all our personal property and lifetime mementos have been damaged or destroyed.
The house must be gutted.
Having been furloughed during the pandemic, I’m embarrassed to share we had been struggling financially and did not have rental insurance.
If you know us, Bonnie and I both suffer from our own health disabilities, which have been worsened by the exposure to so much smoke and the overall emotional trauma of having to escape from the 3rd floor apartment of our house.
Our family is doing what they can to get us back on our feet.
We need housing, furniture, clothing, basic essentials, and to restore our lives to some form of normalcy.
We truly need your love and support now. Every little bit helps.
Our families’ & friends' gratitude, appreciation and prayers mean more than we can thank you in words.
