Fire Recovery for Scott and Deseri

Last week our family lost our dear grandfather. This week we came together from all over the country to celebrate his life and to mourn the loss of a wonderful man.
On the eve of February 4th, 2020 we were all preparing for the viewing. Our uncle was getting ready and a good Samaritan began banging on his front door incessantly. He was not aware, but his building had caught fire on the floor below. Within minutes the fire had engulfed the entire apartment. Our uncle Scott and his girlfriend Deseri fled after grabbing their cat. The hallway just moments later was inundated with smoke. They were, fortunately, able to retreat back through the apartment and down the fire escape. A minute later their kitchen and living room were completely engulfed in flames which you can see in the photo. Had that good Samaritan not warned them they would have never known to escape as no alarm ever went off in time to warn them. We hope the good samaritan made it out ok and would like to thank him for not giving up when they didn’t hear him knocking. You gave them the minute they needed to leave before everything, including their fire escape, became completely engulfed in flames. We also want to thank the friends who gave clothes to them so that they could attend the funeral of our grandfather. It’s been devastating for our family to lose a dear member and to almost lose our uncle, brother and son. We are blessed that Scott and Deseri are alive and we have all been humbled at the generosity of others in this time of grief and need. Our uncle can never replace his prized album collection and possessions, but we are glad he walked out with his life. We would like to help them rebuild their life as they have nothing and ask that you could donate anything you are able. Thank you.
