Fire Recovery for Bob & Toni McAuliffe
Donation protected
On Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at 8PM Bob and Toni made the decision to leave their home at Last Chance and head into Davenport to stay at Toni's quilting studio as the air quality from smoke and ash caused by the CZU Lightening Complex Fire was so bad. The plan was to head back the next day during the daylight to grab their chickens and any valuables as they only took some clothes, the cat and the dog. 10PM that night mandatory evacuations were in place for the Last Chance area and surrounding.
The entire Last Chance, Swanton Road community went up in flames.
Wednesday afternoon the community of Davenport was ordered evacuated. Bob and Toni once again loaded up the cat and dog, all the quilts Toni has been working on for her clients, part of her quilting machine and towed their trailer into Santa Cruz where they are staying with their daughter's Carrie and her family.
We are hoping that Davenport is spared from the fire so that Bob and Toni can make the studio livable (there is no bathroom, working kitchen or bedroom). Bob has lost all his work tools.
Bob and Toni are always the first to help their friends and families when in need. I am asking for any help to get them back on their feet, where ever they may land when this is all over.
Any donations that you are able to provide will go toward restoring what was lost.
Thank you for helping my parents recover from this devastating loss.
