This is my cousin Stephanie, and her son. They are victims of the Northern California fire. They lost everything. House, car, etc. This is her story below. Anything will help during this tragic time. Please share. We appreciate your help!
Maybe it is cathartic, many others are sharing so I guess I will try it as well. It was confirmed earlier that our house is gone. It wasn’t much, but it was the first house I owned and we built it up as our home. Most of our important items were loaded into my car which I later had to abandon. After watching numerous video’s I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it and it is destroyed. My story isn’t as harrowing as other, but my last prayer before I left my car was “God if I cannot escape please grant me a swift death”. I could not have ever imagined asking for something like that out loud, but I could see flames coming. With my two cats and my dog shoved into my emptied luggage bag I managed to make it to where cars where turning around and as I shared before an amazing couple let me ride in the bed of their truck. Like many others I rode down Skyway through flames. Just crying. I left the truck at Bruce and Skyway and managed to call my family to let them know I was safe. While catching my breath in the grass, a coworker drove past and saw me. She immediately pulled over and we just hugged each other and cried. We have all suffered so greatly. Unfortunately my story is not the exception. I hope everyone stays safe tonight. Tell everyone you love them...
