Fire Philly Employee Emergency Fund

Donation protected

The staff at The Fire Music Venue and Bar in Philly is facing a crisis. Due to the recent closing of our venue/bar- a situation that may go on for months as a result of an international health crisis- our sound engineers, our door people and our bartenders now face an extended period without work- perhaps months. I am personally reaching out to each and everyone of you to ask for your financial support. Funds raised through this initiative will enable our staff to purchase food, pay rent and in every way possible sustain themselves through this very difficult time.

My sons and I are helping in every way possible, but we are limited due to the financial crisis we ourselves have been facing. I understand that this is a very trying time for everyone and that your financial resources might also be very strained, but if it would be possible to help, it would truly mean the world to all of us.

For more than 20 years members of our deeply caring bar tending staff have been serving and supporting our Philadelphia music community and the audiences who have come to see their shows. Our female and male sound engineers and our door professionals are among the most highly respected and talented in their industry. The dedication and tireless support for bands given by our engineers have often gone far beyond that of a normal technician, frequently giving extra time and thoughtful and supportive consideration in order to uplift and energize the musicians who have played on our stage, while our door people and bartenders have helped to sustain a truly loving and caring community environment, where the nurturing of musical and artistic growth has been made possible. Recently the recipients of an award as Philly's best open mic, ours is the oldest in the city, and without question, truly superlative, due only to the exceptional love given to those making their first foray onto the performing stage by our sound engineers and our hosts who bring the entire audience, the experienced and novice, together with unconditional love.

Most every 35+ year old musician and rock music lover in Philadelphia has been at one time or another a performer on our stage or, during their teenage years, an attendee at one of the All Ages shows we used to present. Many now well known musicians, including John Legend, Maroon 5, My Chemical Romance, Jason Mraz, Dr. Dogg have played our venue. Without the love and welcoming care of our staff, none of these history making, fantastic artistic experiences would have been possible for our city or for our musical community.

As the owner of the oldest original music venue in Philadelphia- and the only remaining female owned music venue- I thank you with all my heart for your help during this very difficult time.
All contributions, no matter their size, are deeply, deeply appreciated.
