We are a group of Amanda’s friends from college and are reaching out for your assistance. We learned yesterday of our friend’s tragedy.

Doug and Amanda Hostetler have spent the better part of their lives caring for the uncared for. Over the course of several years, they have answered a calling to adopt 10 children from China. Together with their three biological children it takes a very special house to accommodate them. About a year ago they found that place.  With renovations to what once was a hunting lodge visited by Teddy Roosevelt, they settled in and called it home. Yesterday, that long searched for and prayed about home caught fire. Under God’s umbrella of protection, the entire family, including the dog and cat, escaped unharmed. As for their home, two of the three stories have significant water and smoke damage. With some of the adopted children having special needs, not to mention the lack of space, it is not feasible for the family to reside there while repairs are made. It is estimated that they will have three to six months of alternative housing expense on top of replacing basic-necessities and repairs to  the home. First, we ask for your prayers during this challenging time for the family. Many have already faced uncertainty during their short lives.
