Fire Leaves Nichole's Family Without a Home
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Nichole!
On May 1st, there was a fire in our building right above my unit. We were at the kids' afterschool events when we got the devastating news that our building was on fire. We rushed home to find our dogs rescued by our lovely neighbors. Thank God for them. It also caused major damage to my apartment, making it uninhabitable. Me & my family (our 5 children) had to evacuate our home, including 11 other families. No one was hurt, and everyone got out in time, thankfully! Due to this unexpected event, we are out of a home and a lot of our things. Us and 10 other families waited for hours wondering if we could go back into our home; unfortunately, we could not. If you can find it in your hearts to help us in this difficult time, we would really appreciate it. Anything helps. For the last several days, we have been staying in a hotel. Red Cross did help, but it only covered 7 days! Even if you can’t donate at this time, please help and share this for me.
All of this is hard on my children, not being able to go home, sleep in their own beds, play with their toys, or even have their stuff with them.
**As of today, we learned they have to gut the whole building, which means we can’t go home for months with no expected date to be able to go back, so we are forced to find a new home.**
Thank you for taking your time to read my story of tragedy!
