I'm trying to find some emergency help for Cameron Coleman-White and her children and pets. On the 7th of January, a fire broke out in the home owned by Cameron and destroyed the whole house, injuring two of her pets, with one dog needing emergency vet care for smoke inhalation. Fortunately, the family was out of the house when the fire broke out, but the pets weren't so lucky. There were four cats involved and two dogs. Two of the cats escaped and have been missing since the fire. Two of the cats remained in the house during the duration of the fire: a kitten named Tennessee and a one-eyed rescued cat named Poe. Poe had some inhalation burns, but he seems to be okay. I have them in my home, fostering them until the family can get a place to live. One of the dogs had part of the ceiling fall on him and trap him, which saved him from fire burns, but he had serious inhalation burns, and it took firefighters several oxygen tanks and a long time to revive him.
The house was owned outright by Cameron when she bought it as a foreclosure, and unfortunately, it didn't have insurance on it. This means that they are all homeless now with no clothes or anything to their name. Cameron has three children and a boyfriend who lived there with her. She had just gotten off of unpaid FMLA for a surgery, so her boyfriend Phillip, who works at Priceless Food, was their only source of income. Right now, they are in a hotel for the weekend with their two dogs, but they are desperately trying to find temporary housing for them and their dogs until they figure out where to go from here after losing literally everything.
I am asking for anything that you can spare so that the family can eat, have temporary housing for them and their dogs, and some warm clothes. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and caring.
