It's October and time for another of of my crazy Halloween haunts.
You can check out past year's haunts here .
This year it will have an alien vibe and space beings turn out to be pretty costly so I am seeking some financial assistance. I know there are worthier social causes to donate to but I think there is also a value to scaring the crap out of kids in my neighborhood for 30 years and to providing a creative outlet to my wildly talented friends.
So if you can find it in your hearts and in your wallets to donate even just $10, that would go a long way to helping finance this year's haunt. Once again the crack Chez Corta team has raised the bar and this year's haunt looks to be out of this world.
All I can offer in return for your support is the promise that once again at least one child will run screaming from my house leaving his family and candy bag behind and I will give a shout out to you or your business on social media. You will of course be welcome to attend the haunt and if you do we will have a special VIP visitor badge waiting for you. You will also have my deepest thanks for supporting what I'm sure can only be described as some kind of insane obsession.
Here is how the budget breaks down:
Custom alien masks/hands from Monster Party
(who did fabulous Star Wars Cantina masks) 1700.00
Alien slime (for the autopsy, it ain’t pretty) 120.00
Small fog machine and low hanging fog juice 100.00
Alien spacesuits 100.00
Metallic spray paint 120.00
Plastic tarp (an alien crash site must be sealed up) 150.00
Van rental (for mobile monitoring unit) 75.00
Alien organs and other assorted alien surprises 150.00
Candy (full size Snickers bars because we don’t mess around) 250.00
Seesaw (you’ll have to come to haunt to find out why) 100.00
LED spot lights 190.00
Wood (for construction) 200.00
Disposable hazmat suits 200.00
Gloves and goggles 50.00
I am hoping to raise $2500 to offset the costs. I don't charge any admission and just offer this free to the neighborhood and anyone else who wants to come by and see the show.
Thank you again from the bottom of my deep, dark, cold heart.
