Fire, Garden Hills Family loss
Donation protected
**Scroll below for Saturday 11/11/23 update**
Early this morning, our Garden Hills neighbors, a sweet family of 5, evacuated their home from a devastating fire, never to return. They brighten my day, whether chit-chat with the loving couple while grabbing groceries at Publix, or our sons enjoying soccer as 5th graders at Garden Hills Elementary. Their two precious daughters succeeded in APS K-12 and beyond, AND they're super cordial all the time!
The Biswas are grateful to be alive and so far as we know, physically unharmed. As they process the trauma and reality of leaving all their belongings behind, they find themselves in a vulnerable place.
I've known them as a tightknit and compassionate family. Without any other family to turn to, we're gathering as many community resources as possible to get them back on their feet.
We appreciate any donations and resources that will go to housing, food, clothing and other immediate and longterm needs. Any legal resources are also appreciated as they face challenges with property management and rental insurance disputes.
Thank you for your support and well wishes to help ease all they face in the coming days.

From the Biswas...
"Thank you, thank you, thank you, for supporting our family. God Bless You. God Bless Your Family. May you have peace."
In just one week, thanks to your support, the Biswas...
- Faced obstacles, through hugs and tears, in shifting to temporary housing, while searching for a new place to live. Remarkably, just today, the family accepted keys to a new place they'll call home!
- Paired with resources to work on unresolved former property issues.
- Covered costs for immediate goods, incidentals and processing fees in their housing transition.
Although the Biswas are unsettled about belongings that are gone, and an increase in living costs, they are overwhelmed with gratitude in exceeding the initial funding goal.
They say thank you for your prayers, donations, and sharing their fundraiser, as they forge a new way ahead, establish a new home, and create a new life.
