Our friend lost his whole apartment in Berlin Neukölln through a Fire in the roof.

His flat is located on the highest floor which is the one that is completely burned down with all its belonging. Ricardo migrated 4 years ago with his little dog to Berlin, since then he's living as a subtenant without an official contract. His situation is unfortunately far more common. Due to housing shortage, many people who come to Berlin are not able to get an official contract. Especially migrants, BIPOC* and people with low incomes suffer the most from this systematic inequality. Therefore he also won't be entitled to get money from the Household insurance.

On top of that distress, as an aspiring freelance tattoo artist and jewelry designer, Ricardo is not safeguarded with an insurance that employees normally get if they are unable to continue working. In the fire he lost all the equipment and tools he needed for that.

Let us stand together and unite our forces to help Ricardo get back to normality and show him that he's not alone in this very unfortunate situation!

Unser Freund hat seine gesamte Wohnung mit kompletten Hausrat durch einen Brand im Dachgiebel verloren. Seine Wohnung ist im obersten Stockwerk und ist dadurch eine der am meisten Zerstörten. Ricardo ist vor vier Jahren mit seinem kleinen Hund aus Chile nach Europa eingewandert und seitdem wohnt er ohne offiziellen Mietvertrag zur Untermiete in Berlin. Seine Situation ist leider kein Einzelfall. Aufgrund der prekären Lage auf dem Wohnungsmarkt sind besonders Menschen mit Migrationsgeschichte, BIPOC* und Menschen mit geringem Einkommen von dieser systematischen Ungleichheit betroffen. Ohne Mietvertrag wird Ricardo also keinen Anspruch auf Erstattung durch die Hausratsversicherung haben werden.

Noch dazu kommt, dass sich Ricardo gerade auf dem Weg in die Selbstständigkeit befand, was ihm jedoch keinen Anspruch auf Arbeitsunfähigkeitsgeld garantierte. Im Feuer verlor er sein gesamtes Equipment, was er zum Arbeiten benötigt.

Lasst uns gemeinsam und mit gebündelten Kräften Ricardo unterstützen und ihm zeigen, dass er in dieser unglücklichen Situation nicht allein ist!

Nuestro amigo Ricardo ha perdido todo en un incendio originado en el tejado de su edificio y que ha quemado todo su departamento en Neukölln, Berlin. Su apartamento estaba localizado en el último piso del edificio, por eso ha perdido todas sus pertenencias. Ricardo se mudó a Berlín hace 4 años con su perrito, desde entonces ha estado viviendo subalquilado sin contrato oficial en ningún piso. Lamentablemente su situación es más común de lo que parece. Debido a la escasa vivienda, mucha gente que se muda a Berlin no es capaz de conseguir un contrato oficial de arriendo. Especialmente los inmigrantes, personas de color y con salarios bajos son los que más sufren de este sistema injusto.

Además de todo lo mencionado, al ser un tatuador autónomo y diseñador de joyas, Ricardo no tiene acceso al seguro que un empleado de una empresa podría tener en caso de tener que dejar de trabajar. En el incendio perdió todas las herramientas y el equipamiento que necesitaba para trabajar.

Ayudemos entre todos a Ricardo a volver a una situación normal y poder mostrarle que no está solo en esta situación tan desafortunada.
