Fire & Flood Damage in Apartment
Donation protected
Hello to all,
I recently had a flood in my apartment after a fire started due to an item getting too hot on the stove, and the sprinklers going off for a substantial amount of time due to the apartment complex maintenance & fire department taking longer than expected to arrive to cut off the sprinklers (40+ minutes). I was burned on the arm & hand as the flames projected up to the ceiling in front of me; lost $3000+ worth of technology equipment, kitchenware (microwave, air fryer, pans), furniture (dressers, bed frame, couch, coffee table), candle products (as I am starting a candle business) due to the water damage along with a collection of mildew & mold beginning to spread throughout the floors/carpet and on certain items that had been untouched while trying to frantically look for a new place.
I was only given 1 week to move out of my apartment - which made things harder. Without notification, my renter’s insurance happened to be cancelled 2 months prior to the situation as I called to receive assistance the day it happened, so that has added a hindrance as well. With all this being said, I greatly appreciate any help at all. All contributions will make a huge difference towards replacing items and moving costs to get to a new place.
Thank you very much!!
