On Monday, November 17th, 2025, the Gonzalez family experienced a devastating house fire that has turned their world upside down. The fire reportedly caused by solar panels on the roof of their home started while my daughter, her two young children, infant baby, and their two dogs were inside the home. Thankfully, the home is not a total loss, but the damage is extensive and has rendered the house uninhabitable right before their holidays, leaving them displaced.

My 9-year-old grandson, my 5-year-old granddaughter, 5-month-old grandson, and my daughter made it out safely. My daughter, brave enough, re entered the home to get their two beloved dogs inside and made it out safely. But the family lost an immense amount of belongings and memories due to smoke, water, and fire damages.

My son-in-law is the sole provider for the family. He is trying his best to keep his job stable while desperately trying to find temporary housing and manage the immense, unexpected financial burden this tragedy has created. My daughter is doing everything she can to comfort the children and keep their spirits up, but they are overwhelmed with the timing of this tragedy, it is especially heartbreaking. With the holidays quickly approaching, they will not be able to be in their home. This means they will miss celebrating their 5-month-old baby boy's first Christmas and first holiday season in their own house, adding a great amount of emotional strain to their already overwhelming situation.
