Urgent Help Needed for a Local Family After Devastating Fire
In the early hours of December 7, 2024, around 12:00 a.m., my cousins, the Essad family, experienced a devastating tragedy when their garage caught fire and was quickly engulfed in flames. The fire caused extensive damage to their home and belongings, displacing the family of four.
Thankfully, everyone made it out safely, including their beloved pets, thanks to the quick response of the brave Hubbard firefighters and police officers. However, the family escaped with only the clothes on their backs and now faces significant challenges as they work to rebuild their lives.
The Essads have always had a heart for rescue animals. They care for three dogs, three cats, a cockatiel, an African grey, an eclectus parrot, and a parakeet. These beloved animals are now also in need of supplies.
Michael, the father, runs a handyman business but tragically lost a lot of his essential tools and equipment in the fire, including painting and plumbing supplies, blowers, saws, air compressors, and paint sprayers.
Perhaps the most devastating loss is the sentimental valuables that can never be replaced. Dawn cherished every picture, graduation, wedding, and childhood memento, especially photographs of her late parents. These priceless items are now gone. If you happen to have family photos or other keepsakes you could share with Dawn, it would mean the world to her.
This family has deep roots in the community. Michael is a graduate of Ursuline, Dawn of Campbell Memorial, and their twins recently graduated from Hubbard. We know the strength of our tight-knit communities and believe in coming together during times of hardship. Anything you can contribute is greatly appreciated, especially prayers ❤️
There’s never a good time for a tragedy, but it feels especially hard during the holiday season.
Thank you for your generosity, kindness, compassion and support.
