Aloha!
Everyone is aware by now, the needs of the people in Lahaina are staggering and truly beyond comprehension, the loss of possessions, homes, and life is devastating.
As we all witness the heartache taking place and want to help where we can, I have decided to fundraise on behalf of my ohana Michele Winkler.
She, like so many, has lost everything in the Lahaina fires. We are all so thankful she made it out safe but the reality of her starting again with nothing is weighing heavy on my heart.
Michele is one of the most thoughtful, giving, and caring people I know! When I first moved to Lahaina, I got a job at the Hyatt who quickly became my Ohana. I had only known Michele for about a week when she got me a new pair of work shoes, knowing I didn’t have a car and couldn’t get the required shoes in time. She quickly became part of my chosen family on Maui and I will always be grateful for her kindness and generosity while I was navigating my new life on the island and beyond.
Michele is the last person to ask for help so I am doing it for her. I want to make sure that she has enough to get back on her feet in the days, weeks and months moving forward.
So here’s where you come in…
I am asking if you can at this time, to help me make sure all her good karma comes back to her in this time of extreme need. No matter how much, when there is nothing, every little bit helps in large ways.
My hope is to get enough here to get a foundation under her in this unexpected upheaval. The money we raise together will go towards helping her get her life back as much as possible, covering her immediate basic needs like clothes, toiletries, housing, food, and other things that might be needed to start again.
Thank you so much for reading and anything you can give is greatly appreciated! ❤️
