Fire Devastation Repair Fund For Lilu, Atom

Hi, my name is Amber. Nisla is my mom, Erin is my sister, married to Jon, with the kids Lilu (8) and Atom (6). The whole family has been devastated by the fires in Lahaina on the island of Maui.

My sister and the kids lived right near the Elementary School, and if you've seen the pictures, everything is gone. Everyone in our community has been affected by this tragedy near and far.

It was supposed to be the kids first day back at school and now it's wild to think the school is gone. The family slept in the car last night on the side of the road after evacuating to Kahului with nowhere to go and no way back home.

As the pictures start flooding the internet we see full neighborhoods totally demolished. So many of our friends lost everything.

Thankfully my sister's work had a shower and a place for them to hunker down. The news is that it will be a few days before they can go back to town to see if there is anything left in the ashes.

Meanwhile, my mom was also able to evacuate in the opposite direction with her credit card and her passport. From what we've heard, the gallery where her paintings were displayed is gone, and we still don't know if her house made it or not.

I will keep everyone updated here as we hear more.

For now, everyone is without cloths and we are all grateful for the support that has already been coming in for food. Unfortunately due to the cost of housing on Maui and just having paid rent, there is rarely much funds left for buying much more.

We are a family of artists and already thinking about the strength of our community and how we might be able to rise out of the ashes of this tragedy. We know this community is strong and will come together. For now, we mourn and process.

Any support that comes in will go to getting clothing and basic living supplies as well as immediate needs such as gas and food. The funds will go directly to Erin, Jon and my mom, Nisla.

All subsequent money will go to establishing housing needs and supporting the rebuilding of our life and town.
