Tommy Lost Everything

Including His 3 Cats in a Devastating Fire

I never thought I’d be writing something like this, but on April 28th, Tommy lost everything in a fire that tore through his apartment. Worse than the loss of his home and belongings, the fire claimed the lives of his three cats, Milo, Stormy, and Keanu.

Tommy adored his cats. They weren’t just pets; they were his family, his emotional support, his daily joy. Anyone who knows Tommy knows how much love he poured into them. They were his world. And now they’re gone. Keanu and Stormy were adopted by Tommy in 2018. They would have been 7 in September. Milo was the baby of the three, having just joined the family in June of 2024. He was almost 1 year old.

To make this story even more heartbreaking, the fire looks to have been intentionally set. The fire was started outside of Tommy's apartment in the hallway on the 3rd floor of the building. In January, another fire set in the hallway of the second floor damaged the unit directly under Tommy's apartment.

This fire has displaced Tommy for a significant amount of time. He will not be able to return to his apartment. He has lost all of his belongings. He may have to take time off work while he tries to cope with the trauma and grief of losing not just his home, but the animals he loved like children.
