Fire Destroys Small Business

First of all, we would like to say thank you to those of you who find it in your hearts to help us through this very difficult time.

CC Made/Cafe Fanny had a devastating incident happen the early morning of August 3rd, 2017. An electrical fire ripped through the building and destroyed everything.

Unfortunately, the insurance company refuses to cover the incident and any of the damages associated. When the insurance company signed us up for our insurance, we were told that we had property insurance for cases like these. However, that's not the case and we will not be covered.

This is why we are reaching out to members of the community, family, and friends to help us fund the lost wages of the employees, supplies/materials, and the equipment we now need to replace because they are inoperable due to the damage.

Cassandra Chen, the owner of CC Made/Cafe Fanny, was originally from Shanghai, China. After immigrating here from China, Cassandra began her career by taking on several jobs involving cooking. She realized she had a real knack for food and a dream to create organic, high quality products teeming with flavor. This launched the creation of CC Made. Eventually, the company grew and she was able to acquire Cafe Fanny.

We are a small business that has run on giving an opportunity for work to immigrants and underprivileged minorities.  We have people of all backgrounds working for us. Cassandra Chen has a phrase: "Just as important to me as my recipes are the people who make the products. We have a great group. The handmade touch is simply special." We are truly a family here at CC Made/Cafe Fanny and this tragedy has not been easy for any of us.

We are asking you to, please, find it in your hearts to donate some funds to support us through this catastrophe. No amount is too small and every donation is truly appreciated. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
