Fire Destroys Just Kid N Childcare Center

As many of you know January 20th changed and affected many lives. Just Kid N Childcare suffered a major fire and sadly everything has been determined a total loss. The daycare has only been at the 6th St location for 5 years, but they have provided childcare in Leavenworth for over 20 years. They have watched children grow up, graduate, and then had the joy of watching their children. Now they have no building to care for children, several unemployed staff and dozens of families without care. This has been a horrible experience for everyone, but they are ready and wanting to have things back to normal but need your help. They did have insurance, but it covers only a small portion of the possessions since the building was leased. They know the loss is over $200,000 and no way will they recover that amount. They need a to find new place to open and call home. At this time, they have not found a location and honestly, they do not have any type of monetary idea of what will be needed. Currently all they do know is they have staff that needs to be able to take care of their families, so they are starting to take donations just to have a beginning. These funds will be dispersed to the staff members and once they find a location the remaining funds will be used for a possible down payment for a building and if not purchasing it will be used for deposits, rent and renovations that are needed for it to become state approved. If you’re able to help thank you so much, even if you are not able to help your prayers, thoughts and good wishes are appreciated. It was heartwarming to see the community care and give them so much love and support just with messages and phone calls. In today's world you don't see that very often and it felt very uplifting for us.
