There are many people who know Sheila Bingham but for those who don’t, you should know she always puts the needs of those around her before her own needs. She has been a staple in the community of Eastover and has lived in this community for more than 30 years. Sheila and her husband own a very small piece of property located on Reedy Branch Road in Eastover NC. They have lived in the same singlewide mobile home for most of their adult lives. They have two adult children and three grandchildren. Their adult daughter Melissa Blauser and their grandson Ayden Thompson both live with them in this dwelling that they have called their home for so many years.
Sheila and her husband have always had a very simple life, they don’t make much money but have always had what they needed and never complained one single bit. They have had just enough money to get by and pay their utilities. For the longest time, Sheila and her husband had no health insurance, so having homeowners insurance was just one of those luxuries that they knew they could not afford. Due to their extremely fixed budget, this family has done without, but this year Sheila made it her mission to make sure her grandchildren and every other child in the family had a great Christmas.
Sheila started working on Christmas during the summer so that she could afford to provide all of these children with special things from her and her husband. It didn’t matter what she had to do without, she was determined to make this happen for these children. Sheila’s family has been planning a get together, on Christmas Eve, where all of the children would be opening their presents, so a few days ago Sheila brought all of those presents to where the party would be taking place so that she wouldn’t have to move them later. She brought all of the other children’s presents but left her three grandchildren’s present at home so that they could all enjoy their Christmas on that very special day.
While Sheila was out doing last minute running around on December 23, 2016, she learned that her trailer had caught on fire. Not knowing the extent of the damage, her family came together and went to Reedy Branch Road, only to find that the Trailer was a total loss. By the grace of God, no one was hurt but everything that this family had is now gone. We don’t yet know if any of the small possessions inside of the home were salvageable but at this time it is not looking good. It is believed that the fire started on the back porch and made its way into the kitchen and throughout the trailer. All the presents, clothes, personal items, and medications are all gone.
Sheila is a proud woman and she would rather do for others than anyone to do for her and she would never ask anyone for help. I am Sheila’s sister in law and I feel that it is my duty to ask for her. We need the help of anyone who is willing. Please help us provide these children with a Christmas. It hurts my heart to think that these children will have nothing to open on Christmas day.
I completely understand the hesitance, those must feel to give money to someone that they do not know, but this woman does it on a daily basis. Any amount that you can give would be a complete and total blessing. Our goal is to first help to replace some of the presents that they lost and to replace their clothing, as the only thing they have left is what they are currently wearing on their bodies. Our second goal is to raise enough money to purchase her a new/used trailer where she can pick up where she left off and not have the extra expense of having a house payment, as her trailer was completely paid for.
Help us help this wonderful woman get her life back together. If there is any question at all about the validity of this Go Fund Me Page please go 3516 Reedy Branch Road in Eastover NC and see for yourself or you can call the fire department and speak to them as well.
I want to thank each and every person for reading this story and I beg you to please share this page and get the word out so that we can help this family. This is a tough time to be dealing with such a loss, we are so thankful that no one was hurt but when you are dealing with uncertainty of what your future will look like it can be just as traumatizing. So please find it in your heart to help. Thank you in advance.
