My father, a veteran with 23 years of service in the United States Air Force, lost everything to a devastating house fire this week. He managed to escape and spent several days in the burn unit at UC hospital for smoke inhalation.
Anything helps. Nothing can replace 77 years of personal items, but he'll eventually need all the basics.
I sincerely appreciate the outpouring of moral support the community has shown. We truly cannot thank everyone enough. It's amazing how a tragedy so awful can also bring out the best in people.
