Fire destroyed home. Family of 8 need help.
Donation protected
Hello,
I am writing this heartfelt story on behalf of our member from the Portland 4 Aerie, whose name is George Harper. He is a Vietnam veteran, who shared his daughter's tragedy with us. We were moved to tears, but we were lucky to finally meet his family, sit down with them all over breakfast. Now we want to help George's family by setting up this GoFundMe page. Please donate to help his family through this unfortunate tragedy.
George's daughter Trena A Harper shared with us, that she lost her home in a fire recently in Portland, Oregon. The family was renting, she is a 41 year old mother of 5 children. She recently diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Her husband Alfonso is a combat veteran, and who is disabled living on housing, both are low income. The family is amazing, loving, and most of all resilient. Their struggle is real though, and we ask you to help them in their time of need.
The family lost everything in the fire. They have no where to go, as remodeling may take months. Remember, they were renting.
George her father, lives in a two bedroom, and has taken them all in with love, but the family are in dire need of help.
Meet Trena's children; Tania just celebrated her 9th birthday at the Portland 4 Aerie after the fire, as she had our all you can eat pancake breakfast. We piled up the pancakes for her, lit a candle, and all sang her Happy Birthday. You could see the joy on her face, but we know the hurt inside.
Trena's other children are Tarig 14, Tamir 13, Tagim 6, and Talib who is 4 and he is a ham and kept us laughing. The Harper's are an amazing family, stedfast, full of love, devotion, service to our country, and we are grateful to share their story.
Please help and share their story. Thank you.
The title - family of 8; 5 kids, 2 parents, and their dog!!! Yes in our eyes a dog is family too.
