100 Year Old Family Home Destroyed By Fire.

The fire burned the entire top story, but fortunately we all got out alive and unharmed  The upstairs was destroyed while the downstairs ceilings were soaked! This is an old family home and by old I mean that it had been my grandparent’s, then my father’s, then mine. I have been hoping it would be my son’s and my grandson’s in time. But also by old I mean the house itself, the wiring and plumbing and windows etc. I tried desperately to keep my insurance, even after a hurricane damaged the roof and eaves I took what I had and repaired the house myself (rather than put in a hurricane claim so that I would not lose my insurance). But the insurance was canceled anyway, after 20 years of never filing a claim. Once canceled the house could not meet the updated standards required. Living on social security with a disabled son have I have not been able yet to make the changes and therefore we have been unable to get insurance. Even small amounts will help replace items lost like computers and phones, clothes and socks and shoes. If I get a large enough amount I may be able to save this house and my future dreams, not to mention my actual home right now!
