Fire took home of vet and firefighters family of 4
Donation protected
Andrew and Meridith Owens were on vacation with their 2 children this week when they received a devastating phone call. On the morning of Wednesday June 23rd 2021 fire had destroyed the Owen's dreamhome. The entire living space and kitchen caught flame and the remainder of this house has severe smoke damage. The 3 pets, their sweet cat and 2 sugar gliders did not make it.
They are a strong, hardworking, and loving family. With all of our help I know in time they can begin to rebuild a new home, hopes, and dreams for their future.
When finding out about this tragedy my heart broke for my very dear friends. While nothing can replace the loss of their animals and sentimental belongings acquired over the years, my hope is only to help with their future and their comfort for the remainder of this Hot Texas Summer.
Andrew is a veteran and volunteer firefighter for China Spring Texas, the home of both Meridith and their two children Hudson and Rainy. They began the design of their home the summer of 2018. At the time Meridith was my coworker and sat right beside me, where she became one of my best friends. I remember entire lunch breaks were spent making phone calls and sending emails to ensure that everything on their new home was perfect for her young family. Then in July 2019 the construction was finished and the 4 of them moved in to the dreamhome that they had worked so long and so hard to get. Now, just shy of that two anniversary that dream was lost.
They are a strong, hardworking, and loving family. With all of our help I know in time they can begin to rebuild a new home, hopes, and dreams for their future.
