Fire at the Harmony House Residence for Men

Tax deductible
We are raising money to benefit Harmony House Inc, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.

On Tuesday, October 12, 2021, an electrical fire caused severe damage at the Harmony House worker dorm on Girard Street in Houston, Texas. This facility was home to 76 working men who pay an extremely low rate for a safe place to sleep, store their belongings and have a place to shower and get ready for work each day. We are incredibly blessed and thankful that no one was hurt as a result of this fire. Many of them lost all of their things such as clothes, ID's, birth certificates, electronics, etc... Everyone in the building lost any food items that were stored in lockers and refrigerators. The majority of these residents would live on the street if they didn't have a bed at Harmony House.

As of now, everyone has been relocated to a hotel while we figure out what to do on a more permanent basis. These men are now in a completely different area of town but still must find a way to get to work, appointments and everything else that life throws at them. This already vulnerable population has high barriers to housing and employment and have just been kicked again while they're down.

Our immediate needs are bus passes and gas cards, food or food cards, Any gift cards are also helpful. Money is the most impactful as we are able to spend it on what is needed most in the given moment. Any monetary donations will be used to house all these working men until another more permanent option is available for them. The Harmony House worker dorm is completely uninhabitable and will be for quite some time. Updates will be posted as they come in. Thank you so much for your generosity!
