My name is Fiona Dyrhauge, a recent graduate from the university of Bristol. My passion lies in wildlife conservation and I hope to spend the rest of my life working towards the conservation of threatened and endangered species! I have just been offered my dream job as an unpaid Assistant Research Officer on Frontier's Marine Conservation programme for an initial period of 6 months, where I will be supervising and training short term volunteers. I am looking to raise money to put towards my covering fee which goes towards funding the research programme and covers both my room and board, however I also have to cover all my flights, visa costs, medical kits, dive equipment and the costs to cover the 2-day predeparture training scheme in London . It has been my life long dream to live and work in Africa, especially Madagascar, not only due to the diversity and beauty of its wildlife, but also because of the rich, beautiful culture; however even in a paradise such as Madagascar, many species are critically endangered and the research I will be contributing to is vital to their continued survival. I need a total of about €3,500 and have already saved around €1000, and hope to make more, but I am desperate to make it to Madagascar, desperate to make a change and protect the incredibly diverse ecosystems of Nosy Be island.
My one wish is that I am able to do as much as I can to protect this wonderful ecosystem and all the creatures that thrive within it, and I suppose I now look to the kindness of the Internet to help me!!
Love to all.
