Fiona's Medical Fund: Love and Support Needed

This is Fiona, my chatty little void. I adopted her when she was only 10 months old, and I have loved her for the last 8 years. She has helped me greatly to get through some really tough times, and I could really use your help to get her through this.

I have had to take her to the vet several times recently. The first time was due to a mystery bald patch on her side, which turned out to be a burn (still not sure what she got into!). She had also lost some weight, coming in a little under 6lbs, and they noticed an irregularity in her heartbeat while there. Blood work results showed a hyperactive thyroid, so she was started on some medication. We had to do a second round of medication before I was able to get her back in again and have them do new blood work to see what her numbers were doing.

The results came back, and unfortunately, they said she has chronic kidney disease, a hyper thyroid, and a heart condition (not quite a murmur, but an arrhythmia of some sort). We are continuing with the thyroid medication (1/2 tablet 1x a day, instead of 2x a day) to help keep her numbers in the normal range. I have picked up some kidney prescription cat food to try and get her to eat that, however she has been very picky about what she eats her whole life. Dry food and treats (Temptations), she won't touch wet food, and I can't try to mix wet with dry, because she won't eat that either. She still gets plenty of water with her multiple water fountains, so I've just been trying to keep an eye on her and make sure she remains comfortable.

The cost however is what I have been struggling with. I have spent about $1200 so far - I am asking for $2000 overall to help with future vet visits, food, and medication. Her quality of life is still good, so I want to keep her happy and comfortable for as long as I can. She enjoys lying in the sun, playing with her toys (carrot or pickle, ftw). She yells at me constantly and uses me as a bed. She has learned it is warm under the covers and will burrow to get in when she is cold (straight lumpin').

I do take Fiona back to the vet in a couple weeks to check her thyroid again, and possibly new blood work in a few months. I can't imagine my life without her, so anything you can do to help is greatly appreciated, whether it's a $5 donation or just sharing the link elsewhere.
