Fiona & Cloe´s House Rebuild
Donation protected
Fiona and and her daughter Cloe have been our neighbours and friends now in Portugal for 14 years, we have watched Cloe grow from a baby to a beautiful teenager.
During this time they have been affected twice by devastating fires.
After the first fire destroyed their home in 2009, Fiona almost single-handedly rebuilt their house, creating a beautiful off-grid environmentally sustainable home that was truly her own. Not only was this their home but it was also until 2 days ago a source of income as a guesthouse for people wanting to spend time in the beautiful riverside valley in Central Portugal.
On Tuesday 17th of September Portugal, yet again, was overwhelmed by fires which swept throughout Central & Northern regions. Fiona & Cloe´s house burnt down despite desperate efforts from Fiona, the fires were just too intense.
Fiona not only lost her home for the 2nd time but also many of her tools. Her other source of income is as a Yurt builder. She lost her steam box, industrial sewing machine and stock to build the yurts. She needs this equipment to start building yurts again to support herself and her daughter.
Your donation will go towards replacing some of the precious items that she lost and to help her out at a time when she most needs it.
Please help if you can.
Many many thanks.
