Dear Family and Friends....
Sadly we lost mum far too soon at the age of only 67. She battled stoically and with courage and faith through what was the most awful and aggressive cancer.
She loved her family and friends so much and embraced life and all it gave to her with gentle love, courage and enthusiasm.
As well as her art she loved gardening and nature. It was a deeply integral part of her life, right from a little girl when she was brought up on a sheep station in the Riverina, in New South Wales Australia; right up until the weeks before she passed away and still managed to have her garden space kept beautifully.
She loved her garden flowers and took great care to choose truly beautiful plants to surround herself with.
She loved visiting a local gardens near her house and one in particular in Devon called “the Garden House”.
She also was asked to paint botanical illustrations on the curtains in the dining room of the tea house. It has a special connection.
We would like to fundraise for a memorial tree to join their arboretum and also for something similar here in Sussex . Somewhere where family and friends can go to remember her by in what were both poignent places in her life.
We ask for no flowers for the funeral but if you feel called to donate towards this. I know she would love this fitting tribute.
With love and thanks, Hannah, Flora and families xx
