Finny The Warrior - Helping Finn fight childhood cancer.

Finnan Glenn is so many things — A son, a brother, a grandson, a great-grandson, a nephew, a cousin, a friend, a classmate ….. But above all, he is Finnan—an eight-year-old courageous warrior boy whose spirit could not possibly be captured by any number of words I could ever write.

Today though, as his Auntie, I do want to share a piece of Finn’s current story and desperately ask for your help …..

A week after celebrating his 8th birthday in April this year, Finnan was admitted to hospital with a fever that would not shift. Just days later (with no warning), Finny was diagnosed with cancer. Advanced Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Stage 3.

Finnan’s life—and his family’s—was instantly turned upside down. In complete shock, his parents (Marnie and Justin and their life partners Adam and Liz) learnt that their beautiful boy would need to begin treatment immediately. Within days, they unimaginably had to explain this reality to Finnan and his big sister, Eleanor.

Directly after Easter, Finny started intense chemotherapy.

Finnan is currently amid a grueling {to say the least} 12 month treatment plan to beat this – At this stage involving; Six consecutive months of intensive chemotherapy, medications through his feeding tube, monitoring, blood tests and admittance to hospital if fever and/or sickness are evident.

Thankfully, his prognosis is extremely positive and he is in the best possible medical hands. We are so fortunate to live in a country where Finn can receive the treatment he needs. His family are endlessly grateful for this. However, whilst medical costs are covered, the weight of everyday life does not pause when your child is fighting cancer. The financial strain of living essentials, when almost all income has had to cease, is an added burden they shouldn’t have to carry—not now.

Finn’s family would never want to ask for financial help themselves (it’s just not something they feel comfortable with), but I will. Because they deserve it. Because they need it. Because there is no government allowance for this. Because the difference between being able to pay the mortgage on the family home or not literally depends on it.

This traumatic journey has left many in Finny’s life feel helpless with how to help, but this is one way we all can actually make a difference. If you’re able to contribute—any amount, no matter how small you think it might be—it will help. It will absolutely help to ease some of stress and allow his family to focus on what is most important right now: Finny’s treatment and his recovery, alongside the whole family’s well-being.

Please, let’s come together to give Finn’s family one less worry during this extremely traumatic and unimaginable time.

Every single bit of support matters and I thank you from the bottom of my heart xxxxx
