Finn's Memorial Fund
UPDATE:
I have both good and bad news to bring all of Tatyana's and Rory's loved ones. To start with the good news, yesterday, Sawyer was found in a backyard in the vicinity of the accident. The residents there took him in, fed him, and held him until other arrangements were made. He came home last night and is doing as well as can be expected due to the circumstances. He is currently resting with Cherry, the first dog we had, who my sister fell in love with almost eight years ago, and will go get a check up soon.
Finn, unfortunately took a turn for the worse last night. Though we had all been hoping that he would pull through, he had developed some health complications that made it clear to us that he would only get worse. We decided against prolonging his suffering and instructed the veterinarians to put him to sleep.
He passed away 6:05 P.M. 12/8/14.
We are all overwhelmed with the support that this page has recieved, as well as the love and kindness that has been extended to myself and my family. I have renamed this page to 'Finn's Memorial Fund'. Beyond covering Finn's and Sawyer's immediate medical costs, we would like to donate the money raised here to charities. Though we are currently deciding on specifics, we have in mind The Broome County Humane Society, the ambulance companies that participated in the rescue, and the scholarship fund that is currently being organized in honor of Tatyana and Rory. I will update this page as soon as we have decided.
Please continue sharing and discussing the page.
Thank you for all the love, support, and help you have all provided us. Please take comfort in the fact that Finn is currently snuggled up with his loving parents and that Sawyer is healthy, safe, and warm with us.
Love,
Steven

Friday December 5th, 2014, Tatyana Buynitsky-Wingham and Rory Wingham were tragically killed in a car accident on the I-88 in Colesville, NY. However, both of their cherished dogs survived.
Sawyer (left) unfortunately ran away from the scene of the accident. The Humane Society is currently putting up flyers and organizing efforts to find him. Though we have not had any calls yet, there have been reports of a dog like him running around the Colesville area.
Finn was rescued from the wreckage and brought to the Vestal Animal Hospital. Finn had suffered some trauma to his neck and is currently unable to stand up or walk. The veterinarians suspect he has an inflamed and slipped disc that is compressing his spinal cord and causing this. In the days since the accident, the veterinarians have noticed improvement in his demanor as well as increased movement in his legs, which is a good sign. However, Finn needs an MRI in order to obtain an accurate diagnosis, determine a treatment plan, and rule out any other injuries. Upon visiting him, we saw the same beautiful, bright, happy dog that we had come to know since he was adopted into our family.
Though the vets have stressed that recovery will come slowly, they have also made it clear that the injury they have described is very treatable.
Finn's current needs:
MRI
24 hour care and monitoring
IV Fluids
Antibiotics
Specific Treatment
Tons of Love
We ask all that were close to Tatyana and Rory to share this page and consider donating to Finn's medical expenses. Sawyer and Finn truly were like children to them and we know that with your help, they will soon be in our home, safe and healthy.
I would like to thank the Binghamton Humane Society for all the help, guidance, and support they have provided in the past few days. They are a truly special organization.
Thank you all for your time and consideration.
Do not hesitate to contact me at (646) [phone redacted] with any questions you may have.
Much love,
Steven Buynitsky
