Finn's medical bills from his ski accident.

In March, Finn had a ski accident in the final competition of the year. He was having a great season, and qualifying for the North American Championships was on the line. The competition had been canceled the day before due to poor conditions. Finn ran 1st for the boys....and he wanted so badly to do well. Instead, he caught an edge and went flying over a cliff. I was video-ing his comp run...and hence got this picture of his crash. He went by ski patrol sled to the Breck Ski Area clinic where they discovered he had a collapsed lung. He then had an ambulance ride to Frisco where they put in a tube to re-inflate his lung. They could not keep him overnight in Frisco because he was under 15. So he went via abulance in a winter blizzard to Children's Hospital in Denver. In addition to his collapsed lung, he had a punctured lung on the other side, as well as a broken clavicle and a broken pinky. He spent 3 nights at Children's where he received great care. He is super lucky....and recovered quickly and well. However, we are now faced with huge hospital bills. While we have health insurance, his stay at Children's goes well beyond the max out of pocket @ $8,500. Additionally, the ambulances in Summit County are not "in-network". The total we have to pay is $16,000. Please know this is not the route we wanted to take, but we are overwhelmed by these exorbitant costs. If you can help in any way, we would greatly appreciate your generosity.

Much love, Anne, Kenny & Finn
