Hello,
My name is Mikah and I am trying to raise money to cover some of the cost of surgery for my dog, Finn. I adopted Finn when he was just a sad, underweight pup. We quickly became best friends and we’ve been through a lot in the last 6 years together. We’ve been through his hip surgery, a fox tail removal from his nose, and now gastrointestinal surgery.
Over the last 3 months, Finn has been suffering from bouts of vomiting and diarrhea. He’s had X-rays, ultrasounds, blood work, fecal tests, etc - all coming back normal. He would get better on medications, but inevitably would have GI issues days later. The vets diagnosed him with IBD (essentially IBS in dogs), but the treatments were only a band aid and he never fully recovered.
This past week, Finn’s health quickly started to decline. He was brought to an emergency clinic for more diagnostics and medications. Today, he had another ultrasound which diagnosed him with a foreign body in his intestinal tract. He was immediately rushed into surgery to remove the blockage.
The surgery went well and the foreign material was removed. Due to the length of time the blockage was inside his GI system, his intestinal tract was extremely inflamed. Finn will likely need to be hospitalized for several days to receive supportive care as his body recovers from the surgery and inflammation.
Finn has been my rock the last 6 years and I now I need to be his rock as he recovered from invasive abdominal surgery. If Finn has ever brought you joy, please consider donating to our Go Fund Me. I know money is tight, so please consider sharing if you cannot donate. Any support, no matter the amount, would be so greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Mikah
