Our dog Finnick has a disease called Glaucoma, this disease is in the eyes and it causes the intraocular pressure (IOP) in the eye to increase. This pressure causes pain and has left him with blindedness. The vet has recently told us that now that he is completely blind the best way to go about giving him a better life is to remove both eyes which would take away the pain and make it easier on him and our family. In turn we wouldn’t have to keep dumping money into eyedrops to reduce the constant build up of pressure. We don’t want him to suffer in pain for the rest of his life so we have considered putting him down as a last resort but for now we are trying our best to give him the best life he can have with his circumstance and the best way to going about this would be to get him the surgery. The only problem we have is financially, The vet gave us an estimated cost of about 4000 dollars that we don’t have. If we can raise enough money we can give Finnick many more years to enjoy living. Ever since he went blind in his right eye and eventually his left we have been figuring out how to bring him the most joy he can experience but it’s hard to constantly monitor him and give multiple eye drops to a skiddish and uncooperative dog this surgery would take a massive load off our shoulders and we would appreciate any help.
