Finnegan's Ruptured ACL Surgery

Donation protected
Finnegan.....my constant and only companion, he's a 6.5 yr old, 13 lb chihuahua. He has ruptured his ACL, Anterior cruciate ligament, in his hind leg. I'm devastated. This is a permanent and crippling injury, once the Ligament is torn the knee becomes very unstable and painful and will never heal or repair itself. The longer it remains untreated the more damage is done to the meniscus, which is also very painful.
I'm unsure how this happened as I was at the hospital for a colonoscopy, yuk!, when I returned 4 hrs later, he couldn't walk. He's unable to bear any weight on the leg, and with having fluxating patella, floating kneecaps, he's unsteady on his other leg. Poor boy. I took him to the emergency vet, $382, to get a diagnosis and pain relief. I'm told the surgery to stabilize or repair the function of the leg ranges from $3500-$5500! Plus physiotherapy later if necessary.
I'm a 62 yr old disabled woman, alone, who is also facing upcoming knee replacement surgery and brain surgery to hopefully allieveate my Trigeminal Neuralgia ( the suicide disease). I also have Lupus, for 33 yrs, ravishing my body.
I live way up in northern Ontario, Sudbury, in a mobile home, it was the only rents I could afford north of Toronto. I still can't make ends meet, living below poverty, on a government disability income, it's hard, not the golden years I imagined!
This dog is everything to me, as I'm over 4.5 hrs away from any family & friends, and am very lonely.  He's kind, gentle friendly and loving. Not the stereotypical chihuahua, everyone who meets him loves him. He has attached himself to me, he's very child-like and smart and totally devoted to me. He never leaves my side, even a trip to the bathroom requires accompanyment. I live for him!!
It's unlike me to have to ask for help, I'm fiercely independent but I can't do this one alone, I need your help. I'm reaching out to the community in hope of finding help. Anything you can give will be GREATLY APPRECIATED and solely used for Finn's surgery and associated cost regarding this injury.
I cannot bear to think of having to surrender him or even worse, having to let him go completely. I cannot think of my life without him.
Thank you for your time. Bless you.
October 2021 update: he is now on heat medicine, every 12 hrs, as he has a significant heart murmur. It is being managed well with the meds now. So we are still trying to raise funds for the surgery. Thank you for your support!!
