Finn Ryan Rowe was born on 6/16/21. He’s absolutely adorable, seems to look just like his father, and has melted the hearts of every nurse and doctor who has come into contact with him. Finn unfortunately faced a traumatic entrance into the world, which was met with immediate complications that have left him and his parents on an uncertain road to recovery.
Within 24 hours of delivery, Finn began to have neonatal seizures and was transported by ambulance from Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, MA to Beth Israel Deaconess in Boston for further testing and continued monitoring. The next morning, Sarah and Ian received word from the neurology team that Finn‘s MRI identified multiple brain bleeds that would require immediate evaluation. He was once again transported by ambulance, this time to Boston Children’s Hospital, where he remains for further treatment and care. While the incredible Neurology team at BCH works to eliminate the neonatal seizures altogether, there are still many unknowns as the Rowe family navigates the damage that Finn's brain suffered in his early days of life. There will be many physical & occupational therapies required, and a treatment plan for Finn will likely be extensive in his first few years of life.
Sarah, Ian, and Finn will be at Children’s for an extended period of time while they navigate these unforeseen circumstances and work toward a quality care plan for Finn. Many of you have asked about how you can help and several of you have already been incredibly thoughtful and generous by sending gifts along to them for food and other expenses related to living in a hospital for far too long. If you’re wondering how to further support Sarah and Ian and are interested in donating, all funds will be allocated towards the following:
- Resources to support Sarah and Ian
- Unforeseen medical expenses outside of insurance
- Additional private PT/OT services and activities to support Finn’s development
- Extended hotel stay in Boston to be close to Finn
- Ambulance transports for Finn and Sarah
- Daily parking garage fees
The Rowe, Delurey, and Deacon families are so incredibly grateful for your support.
