Finn Boy Needs New Ears!

Hi! My name is Finn, and I am a 2-year old Golden Retriever. Nice to meet you all! I belong to Mom (Dakota) and Dad (Damien), and while I am a beautiful boy, I'm also an expensive one, due to no fault of theirs (or mine!). I have problems with my ears, and keep getting infections, no matter what mom and dad try. They've made me take a bunch of yucky-tasting pills, and they have me on Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein to try to help me deal with my allergies. Unfortunately, my ears have gotten really bad lately, and I am no longer responding to antibiotics. My one ear developed an abscess, and I ended up in the hospital where the nice doctors had to install a drain. That didn't work, though, and Mom and Dad have already applied for Care Credit and maxed it out at $7600, which covered my 3-night ER stay, a CT scan of my noggin, and some pain pills.

Mom and Dad say my only hope now is to have surgery on both ears, something called TECA, or Total Ear Canal Ablation. I don't like to show it to Mom and Dad, but I am in a lot of pain, and I've lost a lot of weight (12 pounds in the last week!) since eating just hurts so bad. The doctors say the surgery will make me all better, even if I may not hear as well as some pups afterwards.

I know Mom and Dad don't like asking for help, so I thought maybe I'd ask for them instead. I don't like being a burden to my family. I just want to feel good again so everything can go back to normal. The lady collecting money for me seems nice, and she will send whatever money she collects directly to my doctors so they can do my surgery ASAP. They said they can get me in on Tuesday, April 4th, if we can come up with the funds. By the by, the reason we are trying to raise $10k is because while my one ear is the worst and needs immediate surgery, my other ear is going to need the same surgery about a month later. They both need fixed before I can feel all better.
