HI - Whether we’ve crossed paths through school, work, events, travel, mom’s groups, or kids, you know me - Heather (or some variation aka Gore, Vosburg, Heater Core, HBomb, Mama Bear, Mayer of NAMM, EAW Heather). This isn’t a scam, it’s me I’m reaching out because I need your help.

Many of you know I suffered a traumatic brain injury due to a car accident, I’m thankful to be alive but it impacted my life tremendously. It also made me realize how precious life is and that I need to be doing things for myself, which means working for myself.

Like many people over COVID Makena and I adopted a dog - Finley. She’s a beautiful husky and has made my empty nest bearable after Makena went off to college.

The post-TBI and COVID era has not been easy for me. I tried selling my house, but realized I couldn’t live elsewhere for less I needed a change and a way to earn a living, so a good old friend of mine suggested caring for dogs. Since so many people got dogs in the last few years, and after I returned from a trip and picked up a sick Finely from the kennel I knew there was a need for personalized dog care. And this is when Finley’s Dog Services was born - a caring dog service either in the client’s home or at my home. I truly treat my clients’ dogs as if they were my own - spending time with them, playing, talking to them, brushing, and feeding them. My clients to date have been more than pleased with the service and the word-of-mouth referrals have helped my business grow…but…I need to grow my business more to survive.

To grow my business I need to make some improvements to my yard and home to accommodate dogs in the extreme temperatures and for their safety. Your donations will help me create a stress-free space where I can care for elderly and sick dogs when their parents are away. I would like to transform my garage/basement into an indoor/outdoor, air-conditioned space that can be used for playtime during the hot summers. Lastly, to create a fenced-in area in my yard for small dogs and a bigger area for larger dogs.

I’ve created a video showing you what I’m doing and how happy it’s making me. I want it to succeed but I can’t get there alone. I can’t imagine doing anything else and I feel in control of my life. I love what I’m doing.

Please help me to continue doing what I’m doing. It’s the best job I’ve ever had and all my pet clients will be sad if I have to get a regular job.
