I'm Finley, I'm a 25 year old animator, and I'm a non-binary transmasculine person. I've known I was some variety of trans since I was 15, and I've been considering top surgery pretty much every day since then.

Last week, I learned I qualify for top surgery at the McLean Clinic on December 23, 2020. I've had OHIP approval for this surgery for two years now, so it's pretty thrilling to finally be doing it—even if it's all happening crazy-fast. Thankfully, said OHIP approval covers the cost of the bilateral mastectomy! However, the cosmetic part of this procedure is not covered, and must be paid for out of pocket. The total cost is $2825. If anything were to be raised beyond that, it would be used to cover related expenses, like medical supplies and transportation from my home in Hamilton to the clinic in Mississauga for the procedure and subsequent follow-up appointments.
