We are the grandparents to Finley Kate, and mom & dad to Meredith. Meredith and Jeffrey are the parents to 15 month old Berkley Mae and 6 day old Finley Kate. Meredith underwent an emergency c-section due to a placenta abruption causing reverse end diastolic flow to the baby. Little Fin was born Sunday, March 12, at 26 weeks and weighing just a little under 1.5 lbs. The funds raised through this page will be used to cover their medical out of pocket limit and expenses incurred out of network during Finley Kate's hospital stay in the NICU, which is expected to be at least three months, and ongoing medical needs.
This journey has already shown the dramatic ups and downs they will experience. At 3 days, Little Fin was diagnosed with a level 4 brain bleed. They were encouraged to know she was starting to take breaths by herself on day 5 to only learn on day 6 blood has now been detected in her lungs. As this little family walks the path God has laid before them, we are asking family and friends to come alongside them that they may be released from financial worries to fully concentrate on Finley Kate. In the event more funds are raised than needed, excess funds will be donated to the Gwinnett Medical Foundation and designated to the GMC Neonatal Unit.
Meredith and Jeffrey are holding on to the truths of God's Word and that Finley Kate was created in the image of their God. Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed in the womb I knew you and before you were born, I set you apart; . . .”
"When it’s hard to hold on — no one holds on to what is cool. They hold on to Christ.
When it’s hard to hold on, no one holds on to what is hipster. They hold on to Him who is holy and healing.
When it’s hard to hold on — we don’t hold on to trendy, we hold on to the True Vine, we don’t hold on to the prevailing and popular because we need to hold on to the Prince of Peace and the true Perfecter of our Faith.
It’s the beliefs we hold, that hold on to us — even when we’re struggling to hold on.
And we can always keep holding on because our God can always be counted on.
The art of living lies in the balance of holding on — and letting go because He’s holding on to to you — He’s holding on to everything.
The art of living is about holding on to His promises — and surrendering to His plan.
Hold on to His promises.
Let go into His plan." ~ Ann Voskamp
