My name is Freddy-Tadeo Cifuentes Vanegas. I am a retired merchant marine, forced to retire, as I would like to continue sailing while being physically and mentally in perfect condition. I cannot find work after looking for a long time; I keep getting the same response from shipping companies, which is my age, 65 years old. I have dedicated more than 40 years to the sea, working with passion and responsibility on ships around the world, and now that I am out of work, I cannot finish my little house. I have always been a hardworking person and have invested all my savings in building my home in Villanueva de Mena (Burgos), a refuge to live dignifiedly with my family. After losing my job and being left with only a pension of 1,200 euros a month, it is impossible for me to meet the payments needed to finish the house. Therefore, I have turned to this campaign. At first, I hesitated because I know there are many urgent causes, but this is my only option today. Right now, I only have 22,000 euros left to pay to finalize the home and to make it habitable. However, I have had a positive conversation with the construction company, and if I manage to gather a minimum of 4,000 euros as a deposit, they will be able to finish the essential sanitation, allowing me to move into my house. This would be the decisive step to start rebuilding my life. I am very close to achieving this, and that is why I turn to the solidarity and kindness of people, hoping that you can help me take this final step. Any contribution, no matter how small, will be a huge boost for me and my family, and it will be used solely to complete the basic works and secure a dignified roof.
