Finding Zain Waliany

Donation protected
WE FOUND ZAIN ON SATURDAY, MAY 25. Thank you to all who supported, donated, reposted, and helped to find Zain. Our appreciation is tremendous.

Our loved friend, big brother, eldest son, and adventurer, Zain Waliany, went missing while exploring Volcan de Acatenango in Guatemala this past Tuesday, May 21. We will stop at nothing to find Zain and bring him home to the US.

Family and friends need financial support to:
  • Coordinate and assist search parties
  • Hire and deploy aerial support (e.g., drones, helicopters)
  • Print flyers

More Context:
Zain Waliany (male; age 26) was last seen on Tuesday evening (May 21, 2024) while hiking Volcan de Acatenango alone. Zain hiked for over 3 hours on Tuesday with a friend, and then they decided to split up around midnight (at basecamp). Zain continued hiking alone and was expected to meet up with his friend (the person he traveled with) after his hike on Tuesday evening (May 21, 2024). Zain has not been seen since they went separate ways.

What We Know:
  • Zain was last seen hiking Volcan de Acatenango on Tuesday evening, May 21, 2024.
  • Zain was last seen wearing white pants and a multi-colored, tie-dye, crew-neck sweatshirt, under black rain coat. Hair was last in a bun.
  • Zain is 5’8-5’9 tall and weighs about 155 lbs. Brown eyes, brown hair. Full beard and long hair.
  • Zain's last known altitude was 12,300ft, verbally, but his last screenshot confirmed he was at least 12,700ft in the air.
