On November 13th, 10 days after Christina's birthday, her constant companion and soul dog of 12 years, Bentley unexpectedly passed away from heart failure. If you know Christina, you know Bentley. And you know he had an extremely important role in Christy's life - especially through the progression of her debilitating illnesses that began in 2020. He was such a loyal, caring and intuitive companion for her. Losing Bentley has been beyond heartbreaking and she is still grieving him deeply.

Through the days following Bentley's passing, Christina reached out and engaged with other Cavalier groups and owners on the internet. She found solace in other’s similar experiences with losing their beloved pups. In one particular group - Cavalier King Charles for Rehoming - she found a 3 year old Cavalier named Charlie who was looking for a home. His family has made the decision to rehome him realizing their lives have become too busy to invest the time and effort Charlie requires and deserves. Their very difficult and emotional decision was made out of love and concern for Charlie's happiness.

Christy explains: "my heart cautiously inquired to his circumstances and filled out an application for consideration. I spoke with the rescue about my situation and left it at “whatever’s best for Charlie”. A week went by and I inquired after him again. There still was no change, so I decided it was the right decision to move forward with the adoption process."

There are costs associated with adopting ($500) and transporting ($450) Charlie home to Christina from Texas, where he currently lives. And this is where we all come in - Christy and Charlie need our help finding their way to each other.
