Finding Hope in Ashes: Rebuilding the Maestri’s
Donation protected
We invite you to join us for "Finding Hope in Ashes," a heartfelt fundraiser dedicated to supporting the Maestri family, who recently experienced the devastating loss of their home in Covington, Louisiana due to a rapid fire. This event aims to rally the community and offer a glimmer of hope to John & Noel Wong Maestri and their family, including their three resilient children: Aiden (15), Addilyn (11), and Asher (8), as well as their two dogs and three puppies who also made it out of the fire.
In the early hours of morning on Monday May 8, 2023, the family escaped the flames, but everything they owned was tragically consumed by the fire. The timing made the loss even more poignant, as Addilyn had celebrated her 11th birthday with a joyous party just days prior, only to see all her presents vanish in the blaze. Asher had also recently experienced a significant milestone, his first communion, just the day before the fire ravaged their home.
Amidst the devastation, a symbol of hope emerged. Within the master bedroom, where the fire's intensity was the greatest, a bible was found on the windowsill. Despite the leather cover being burned off, the pages within remained untouched. Serendipitously, the open page revealed a profound verse from 1 Samuel 2:6-9, reminding the family that even in their darkest hour, there is the promise of strength, restoration, and the possibility of a brighter future.
While we seek the support of the compassionate Covington community, we also extend our call to the wider TikTok community, my friends in Los Angeles, and our peers in the entertainment industry. Let us come together to assist the Maestri family during this difficult time. Your donations, whether large or small, will make a significant impact in helping them rebuild their lives and reclaim their dreams.
The Maestri family had worked so hard to get to where they were today by overcoming many hurdles, John was electrocuted by powerlines in 2012 working as a commercial glazer which took years of recovery. Followed by preeclampsia induced preemies born at 1lb 15 oz (Addilyn) and 1 lb 13 oz (Asher) with 3+ month long Nicu stays.
We humbly request your contribution by donating, sharing this fundraiser, or personally reaching out if you wish to provide any physical donations the family. By standing united, we can exemplify the power of compassion and resilience. Together, we will find hope in ashes, and we will rebuild lives and dreams for the fire-displaced Maestri family and their beloved pets.
In the past Noel & John have countlessly helped family, friends, & strangers in times of need during hurricanes, tragedies, & simple deeds. Now is our chance to let them experience the same & make a profound difference in their lives. We express our heartfelt gratitude for your time, your generosity, and your commitment to bringing hope to the Maestri family.
With warm regards, Olivia Wong
