Help Us Find Jemsie – We Still Need Your Support
Firstly, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who has supported us so far. Your generosity, kindness, and prayers have kept us going during what has been the darkest time of our lives. We are sorry for not updating sooner – we had truly hoped that by now, this nightmare would be over and Jemsie would be safely back with us.
But heartbreakingly, there is still no sign of him.
Jemsie’s personal belongings remain unlocated from his boat Kehaar. The Guardia Civil still have no further information on his disappearance. Tide and wind reports confirmed that conditions at the time were only mild to moderate, which simply does not match up with the damage done to his jib. His passport and Monzo card have never been handed in. We do, however, have definite sightings of him at the kebab shop and the police station the following morning. And yet… since then, nothing.
Thanks to your help, we were able to bring Thumbelina home. She was suffering terribly despite being very well minded and cared for, but now, surrounded by family and in familiar surroundings, we hope she will begin to recover. The fees were expensive (nearly €1000), but we believe – and we hope you feel too – that it was worth every cent to have her safe again.
As a family, we have been taking turns traveling back and forth to Gran Canaria, doing everything we can to help with the investigation. But it has become painfully clear that we cannot do this alone. We now feel it is time to bring in a private investigator to help us find Jemsie. This is not a step we take lightly, but we are desperate to bring him home.
Please, if you can, continue to support us. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to answers – and gives us hope. If you cannot donate, please share our story far and wide. We will never stop searching for Jemsie, but we need help to keep going.
From the bottom of our hearts – thank you.

We are still seeking your help. Jemsie remains missing despite our ongoing efforts. Several family members have now flown over to work closely with the police on the ground. However, further investigations are required, and expenses are mounting quickly.
To everyone who has already donated, we cannot thank you enough—your generosity has helped us get this far and means more to us than words can say. Any further donation, no matter the size, would also be so gratefully appreciated.
Thank you all for your kindness, generosity, and continued support. We will share further updates as and when we are permitted, either on Jemsie’s page or through family members’ Facebook accounts.
Our much loved James "Jemsie" Nunan, has been missing since August 18th while solo sailing around Gran Canaria with his little dog Thumbelina. His boat was found adrift without Jemsie. Despite searches being undertaken there still has been no sightings of Jemsie.
Our hearts are broke and we are desperately trying to find him and bring Jemsie and Thumbelina home. We are now at the stage where more family members need to travel to participate in the search and help, but costs are mounting very quickly and we need your help.
Every donation, no matter how small, will help support the ongoing search for Jemsie and reunite him with Thumbelina and his family who are missing him dearly.
We promise to keep you updated on our search and guarantee that any money not used from the fund will be given to Search and Rescue.
Please help us find Jemise.
Heartfelt thanks,
Jemsie's family
