My sweet sister Adrienne and her family just can't seem to catch a break, and all of her friends and family are saying "Let's give them a hand!" Adrienne has dealt with medical problems her whole life and has been able to laugh her way through them and continue to be a light to others. Those of us who know her already know her fight through her stroke, her heart surgery, being hit in the face by a foul ball, in addition to the many surgeries for TMJ as a young teenager and young adult. But the last couple months have blown us all away. She had emergency gall bladder surgery only to find out a few days later that she was pregnant. The hospital didn't ask her about the possibility of pregnancy, nor did they perform a pregnancy test. Unfortunately, a week later she miscarried. Shortly before the surgery, after years of making their falling apart car muscle through repairs, they finally purchased a newer car. The week before Thanksgiving, after picking up Ted's mom from the airport and McKay from work, a distracted teenager blew through a red light going 60 mph and destroyed their car. They recognize the incredible miracle that they weren't harmed more seriously, but the effects of this accident are tragic and causing emotional turmoil. They have retained a lawyer for the medical portion, but have been advised that a lawyer for their car (which has been declared a loss) is not smart. The insurance company has given them an amount for the car which will not cover the loan they owe. They had only made ONE payment towards their new loan when the accident happened! They owe considerably more than insurance will pay and the insurance company isn't budging. Adrienne, McKay and Teddy will continue to need medical care, but Adrienne's concussion is inhibiting her ability to function and deal with the insurance companies...who don't want to pay.
This is on top of the holiday season, where funds are now non-existent for gifts. Adrienne doesn't want this account being set up because she knows they have already been blessed beyond measure and feels others are more deserving. We KNOW they have been blessed by those around them who love them. But we feel like they are deserving so I'm setting it up anyway :)
We're hopeful we can raise enough money to pay the gap between what insurance will pay and what they owe so they can move forward in life. Medical bills from the years of Adrienne's health challenges have mounted and already burden them. We'd love to lift this particular burden.
If you can't help monetarily, we know the Finch Family believes in the power of prayer. They can feel when they are being watched over and recognize God's hand in their lives.
Thank you for considering the Finch Family's needs during this time!
