Hello! My name is Pearl. Nestled in the foothills of Podocarpus National Reserve in Vilcabamba Ecuador, is Finca Uruche, a 45 Acre Organic Farm and Equine Sanctuary. My family and I have been sustainably developing the land for nearly 4 years. Along with reforestation, food growing, raising our children and more, here, in May of 2023, we have 4 horses. We are creating a haven for equines to live a sweet life, full of forage, freedom, friendship and love. Horses are often broke and bred at a very young age. The females are of top concern, as they are bred too early and too often. I take in equines and give them a safe and loving home. They live together in a herd and free forage on pasture. I teach them basic groundwork manners through love and trust. By the time they are 4 years old, they will have strong bones and a gentle manner and be ready for further training. At this time they may be re-homed to another good life, or continue to live at the farm. We would also like to incorporate an Equine Therapy center for children and adults and host workshops to inspire and educate on creative and holistic ways of interacting with horses. I would like to offer opportunities for "Being with Horses". To do this safely and well, we need more infrastructure and training for the horses and myself and, to continue to build a team of poeple that want to be part of the project. The funds raised here will be used for,

1) Improving existing and building new fences to make sure the horses have enough space to forage and be happy and safe. Good fencing and gates are a must.

2)Help with Medical care, Supplements and General Health Care Maintenance.

3) Training and Education for The horses and Humans

3) Building a barn to give the horses respite from the weather, store our equipment and have a safe place to interact with and medically treat the horses when needed. Currently, we do everything outside.

3) Building a covered area with a bathroom for educational classes and workshops
