Hi my name is Patti Crocker. Back on November 9th, 2025, my daughter Robyn passed away suddenly, leaving behind 6 children in Bathurst, New Brunswick. I live in British Columbia and Immediately flew out to be with my grandchildren during this unimaginable loss. Due to serious safety concerns, the children were placed in protective care and we were moved to a secure location.

The ministry has been covering shelter and food costs during this time.

However, since I am not considered the children's legal guardian or a foster parent, I am receiving no financial assistance while caring for them.

The children are expected to be placed in permanent care with family members in British Columbia. However this process has been delayed, as it involves coordination with 2 provinces.

During this transition period I am responsible for all my expenses back home while being unable to return to work.

i have been placed on a leave of absence, and have applied for Employment Insurance, but my application has not yet been reviewed.

As a result, I have not been able to pay my rent and basic living expenses, and I do not currently have the funds to return home once the children are settled.

i am incredibly grateful that my landlord and employer have been so understanding, but the financial strain is becoming overwhelming.

This fundraiser is meant to help cover essential expenses during this temporary, but critical gap in support

I never imagined needing to ask for help like this, but my priority is keeping my grandchildren safe together and with family, after everything that they have already lost.
