Financial Support for the Kim Family

My father passed away February 27, 2021 at 1:30pm after battling neuroendocrine carcinoma for just 2 short months. He was a husband, a father, and a grandfather. He immigrated from South Korea in the 80s and helped bring his siblings to a new country to start a new life. He came to a country he knew nothing about, other than the “American Dream”. In 2018, he achieved his long time dream of becoming a naturalized citizen of the United States of America. He worked all his life as general contractor and used his skills to help out whenever and wherever it was needed. Whether it was helping friends and family renovate their homes, doing maintenance and volunteering his time at church, or simply offering his services when it was needed. Even working 60+ hours a week, he would still have the time to take me to the beach, the park, take me swimming somewhere, or take the family on camping trips to Yosemite, Big Bear, Pismo, the Grand Canyon and everything in between. I credit my love for the outdoors to him and hopefully will be able to pass that along to Rien and Roman. He was quick to discipline me whenever I got out of line, first to spoil his grandsons, and absolutely loved Christy, telling her that she’s not his daughter in law but his daughter. He’s the one that taught me that a man never breaks his word, no matter the circumstances. Through chemo and radiation, he promised to fight and give it his all and he kept his promise to the very end. He was, is, and will be the bravest and strongest man I know. And I can only hope to be half the man and dad that he was. The unexpected diagnosis and immediate deterioration of my father’s health prevented my parents to make the proper financial arrangements. Now with the loss of my father’s benefits, the funeral costs, and the uncertainty of my mother’s housing, I’m reaching out to my friends and family for help. Even with the financial help I have been giving to my parents, my support alone will unfortunately not be enough. Furthermore, I’m in the process of searching for a more affordable housing unit for my mom, but it is difficult due to the current housing crisis. I would like to ask for a little help for my mom in her time of grief and need. Most importantly, please keep us in your prayers. Thank you.
