Financial Support for Malee's Laid Off Staff

My friends, all of you know we’re in the midst of one of the worst pandemic’s that has ever happened to our country. This pandemic seemed to happen overnight. In one week, everything in our lives turned upside down. Being a public source, we were asked by the powers that be to close our doors to dine-in service. This has affected all my service staff, my bussers, and my bartenders. I’ve had to lay them all off in an effort to try to keep our doors open. Hopefully when this is all over, we’ll still be here and at some point, we can be operating business as usual.
I’m helping my employees who were laid off to get unemployment insurance. I’m writing letters to their landlords and people whom they owe car loans to, to tell them that they have been laid off and to please give them an opportunity for a hiatus on their payments until all this is over. We’ve prepared a food box for our staff including toilet paper. We’re trying to do everything we can to take care of our staff. People who have worked for me for 30 years or 20 years, who’ve pinned their futures on Malee’s, are now in a horrible, horrible, state. This is heartbreaking.
We want to try to take care of the people that we can take care of both here and out there. We’ll pray every day that there is an answer to this horrible pandemic very soon so that we can get all of them back in and be back to business as usual.
Please, for the sake of the staff we ask that you donate whatever you can whether large or small, every dollar counts to help the staff that we were forced to lay off survive during this crisis. We have to pull together as a community and lift each other up. Scottsdale is a strong community and together we will make it through this, I’m sure of it.
